Daily Prompt: Inside the Actor’s Studio
On the interview show Inside the Actor’s Studio, host James Lipton asks each of his guests the same ten questions. What are your responses?
Q1: What is your favorite word?
A1: My favorite words are two not one. I use, “sort of”.
When I am explaining something to someone and words fail me I say, “It was like this sort of”. I do it unconsciously. It rubbed off on my husband. When my husband did his Staff Course and at the end of the year the year’s book came out, beneath his photo was the nickname, “Mr. Sort Of”.
Q2: What is your least favorite word?
A2: My least favorite word is not a single word but words. All those words people use for swearing. They think they are super cool. They think they are It. Whenever someone uses them in their everyday language or writing they fall down in my eyes.
Q3: What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
A3: Seeing Nature and hearing Music turns me on creatively.
Hearing the Quran turns me on spiritually.
Hearing the voices and laughter of my children turns me on emotionally.
Q4: What turns you off?
A4: Meeting people who project something different about themselves and what they are in realty.
Q5: What is your favorite curse word?
A5: I don’t curse. I say, “Oh God,” or “Oh My God.”
Q6: What sound or noise do you love?
A6: The sound of music.
Q7: What sound or noise do you hate?
A7: The cat making noises.
Back home my neighbor keeps a multitude of cats. They are the bane of my existence.
During summer it is okay because of the air conditioner being on I don’t hear them. Once the AC is switched off in the ensuing months, their cries don’t let me sleep.
Q8: What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
A8. Being an Artist.
Q9: What profession would you not like to do?
A9: Being a maid, a cleaner or a cook.
Q10: If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
A10: God Says in His Own Words in the Quran, Part 30, Chapter 89, Ayat 27-30.
Ayat 27. To the righteous soul will be said, “O (thou) soul, in complete rest and satisfaction!
Ayat 28. Come back thou to thy Lord—- well pleased (thyself) and well pleasing unto Him!
Ayat 29. Enter thou, then, among my Devotees!
