I am a Nutcase

Daily Prompt: Pour Some Sugar on Me
What is your favorite thing to eat? Bread pudding? Chocolate chip oatmeal cookies? A smooth and creamy piece of cheese cake? Tell about the anticipation and delight of eating your favorite dessert. Not into sweets? Tell about your weakness for that certain salty snack.

The moment I catch sight of an ice cream, dessert or chocolates, I change from a staid person into someone else. I forget one of my unwritten ( they are unwritten cause I don’t want anyone to know) resolutions to watch my ever expanding waistline. I want to know why it adds to the waist? Why not to the hands and face? I have seen that faces that are round and chubby don’t look old. Is it my observation or have I got it wrong?

I go gaga over nuts. I think I must be having DNA acquired from squirrels from the way I hoard nuts. Back home, nuts occupied considerable space in the pantry. Here, they (I mean nuts) jostle for space among my clothes.

When I am watching a movie, or I am immersed in reading a book, I chomp on pistachios, almonds and peanuts. I keep on munching them. The only thing which stops me is the fear of having blood pressure which puts a stop to it.

Believe me, I would have ballooned into a colossal, fatty mountain. I am afraid my children would have failed to recognize me if that had happened. I call on my reserves of self control to stop gobbling my favorite things. I do check myself in what, and how much I eat.

  1. Ice cream, chocolate and nuts? You’ve been in my kitchen. I eat pistachios (really a seed) or cashews every day. I also eat dark chocolate every day. I try not to eat ice cream every day. That does add inches to my weight and waist faster than anything else.

I do not have to put my nuts in my closet πŸ™‚

    1. We must have been made from the same mud or clay by God. 😊. To clarify on the closet thing, I live with my son. I have a room to myself only so I hoard my goodies in the closet. Chocolates and chewing gum too.

      1. I remember you mentioned in an earlier post that you lived with your son. I understood why your goodies were sharing space with your clothes πŸ™‚
