Daily Prompt: Witness Protection
When you do something scary or stressful — bungee jumping, public speaking, etc — do you prefer to be surrounded by friends or by strangers? Why?
Attempting anything scary requires courage from deep down inside within oneself. I don’t think anyone can help. The demons have to be faced on your own.
Our village home remains unused most of the time. Lizards creep inside. When you open a door, they rush inside. I scream and jump at the same time, while taking wild swings at them with a broom. To me, they are the most hateful creatures on God’s earth. Sorry animal lovers.
Bungee jumping doesn’t appeal to me. I would love to go kitesurfing. Whenever the opportunity comes my way, I am sure I will go for it. I would love to feel the wind in my hair, as I paraglide over the waves with a power kite to be propelled across the water.
I confess, I have never done it before. The first time I saw people kiteboarding was at Ocean City, eight years ago.
My daughter asked me if I wanted anything to do. That was the only thing that appealed to me.
There wasn’t any time, plus I didn’t have appropriate clothes for it.
We bought souvenirs from the shops, and had lunch. The children played in the waves for a little while, and then we returned to Baltimore.
