Out of Reach

My past life becomes blurred as the years pass. I don’t look back except when the daily prompt wants me to recall a memory. I live in the present and hope my future is better. If it doesn’t get better at least it shouldn’t get worse than the one I am living now.

Wishing all Muslims a very Happy Eid-ul-Adha.

My son-in-law FJ sent me a link to Fluffy’s show. It’s hilarious.

DAILY PROMPT

Out of Reach

Write about the one X that got away — a person, an experience, a place you wanted to visit. How much would you change about your life to have it within reach again?

      1. I went to your theme and couldn’t find anyplace to reinstall the like button. You can go to
        https://en.forums.wordpress.com/

and open a new topic to ask how to get your “like” button back. In the meantime, I’ve asked my friend to contact me and when he does I’ll see if he can figure it out. I thought “help” button should be a widget but it isn’t listed as one. some people don’t like the “like” button so I know it is possible to take it off, so we’ll be able to figure it out…Try the forum as well.

      2. My friend thinks, as I do, that the Like button is automatic from WordPress and not something you install, but I have noticed other people that don’t have one so there must be some way to turn it off. Perhaps that is what you have done or perhaps it is part of the malfunctions going on at WordPress. I’ve been told someone hacked into a large number of the sites..But haven’t had that substantiated…Just one person told me.

      3. Okay, have you found an answer? If not, I’ve figured out where you turn the likes off and on. You go to the column to the left–the top label is Dashboard and going down to the bottom, you find Settings From the popup menu to the side of Setting, choose Sharing and there are two places to check. under WordPress.Com Likes choose “are on for all posts” Then if you wish, for Comment Likes, choose “are on for all comments.” Hit “Save Changes” at the bottom, pray, and go back to your blog, refresh, and see if you now have likes. Let me know if this works or not.

      4. Dear Judy, thank you. You are the best.
The one you mentioned was already clicked but the missing like button didn’t show. So I clicked on the one which was per post.
I still can’t see it, but apparently it must be visible to others because a few likes trickled in.
        Thank you for helping me.

  1. Sheen…I can’t find a Like button or a place to comment on your blog. I wanted to comment that when someone close to us dies, I think people often stay away because they don’t know what to say and they are afraid they’ll make a mistake. This of course is ridiculous because usually women at least need someone to talk to and there is really no wrong thing to say. The main thing is just to listen. people are afraid to mention the name of the person you have lost–as though something bad is going to happen if they do. Unfortunately, it looks to the grieving person as though their friends have stopped caring for them. This is a lesson we all need to remember. When friends or loved ones lose someone, they need more company, not less. If you need help restoring your Help and Comment button, contact me and we’ll see if we can figure out how to get it reinstalled. There have been a number of blogs lately where I can’t find how to comment or “like.” Also “reblog.”

      1. What is the name of your theme on your blog? I’m going to Skype a friend to help me figure out instructions to give you for reinstalling your like and comments buttons. They are still there on some of your posts…Like the one I just sent you a comment on.
