The fire alarm in front of my bedroom door was throwing shafts of brilliant light instead of ringing for no apparent reason. It hurt my eyes. My immediate thought was to go, and check the cooking range whether Son might have left a burner on while getting his breakfast, a few minutes back before the fire alarm decided to go berserk. No— everything looked fine. This simplified the matter. We weren’t the culprits, as the trouble wasn’t brewing in our home.

We had to sit tight for the trouble elsewhere to get sorted. Meanwhile we simply had to wait.
