Mentor

Mentors I had none except for magazines

I had to rely on the old me

Throughout childhood, and my teens

Now I have my iPad which does the trick

And show me what’s to be seen

I trust none except for my God

Who is truly unseen

Tide

.

Son, and I had been living here for months, but didn’t get time to go visit the Atlantic Ocean which is practically at our door steps. The seagulls swoop, and fly through the area where we live. Finding time was a necessity to go look at the ocean.

Then March was coming to an end, and both Son, and I had not filed our tax returns. The time was running out like time, and tide waits for no man. Mine was easier, while Son had to go through a lot more, so he decided to get it done from Houston. I got mine done at the local H&R Block, although I had mislaid some documents, but the chap doing mine had to contact the Houston office on my behalf.

Anyway coming back to seeing the ocean, it did happen.Son asked, “Want to see the ocean?” It was right beside the H&R Block. I breathed the sea air, and looked at the horizon finally.

Astonish

Spring in New Bedford, MA.

People astonish me with their maliciousness, hatred for other human beings.

I wonder how can theses feelings exist in someone’s heart. Doesn’t all this bitterness, undue hatred scorch their hearts. Why should it exist?

I wonder…..

Tantrum

Feel like throwing a tantrum

You will laugh when I tell you at who

The ones who make the labels on jars

Sticky glue

I scrub, furiously, and repetitively

My repeated efforts don’t bear fruit

My fingers ache

I give up

Glimmer

At present, as soon as I clear the remnants of our morning breakfast from the dinning table, I gather the paints, and brushes trying to draw bushes as they look in reality. My attempts looks like dabs of paint splattered on the canvas for no reason at all, and too unlike the real ones. Sometimes they do give an illusion, but at other times it’s a disappointment.

My eagerness evaporates in no time, and I give up to attend to washing dishes which lie in the sink waiting for my attention. Being a homemaker is a thankless job, in which you keep on doing repetitive work, and no one gives you any credit for it.

The next day I again return to my paints, and brushes. I soldier on ….. maybe someday I get better at it. A glimmer of hope leads me on.
