Broken

I have seen you on the prayer mat

Bowing down to our God

Yet learnt you lie so blatantly

In total disregard

Of what’s true, and what did happen

The truth between us all

You forget the angels writing

Of what did befall

Your hatred, and maliciousness

Severed the ties that held us close

They are shredded, and beyond repair

With wickedness you pose

Lies, and deceit spread their poison forever

With broken spirit I won’t trust

The likes of you never

I wrote this poem a year, or two earlier, but have forgotten the date. I had posted it on my blog.

Pensive

I am in a pensive mood

What has become of my son and his life

How he suffers at the hands of his wife and her lies

What will be the outcome?

Why is she doing this to him?

All because I refused to hand over what my husband left me

All because my son refused to leave his mother a destitute

She took the no to wreck havoc with her husband’s life

With no thoughts of her own children

The lawyers in their greed are going to prolong the case

What will be the outcome?

I never knew that courts and lawyers here don’t provide justice

They don’t dig out facts

Only the one with lies is the winner

In the end my son’s savings gone

No home???

Darkness prevails in the courtrooms here

Dear God! You see what’s happening?

Will there be justice?

The News—Blah Blah

News throw me into depression, so I don’t read news and get on with life. When there is some earth shattering news, I hear it from the people around, I look it up. My motto is: why hear bad news?

Mostly the news are about politicians and their activities, socialites, actors and so on. Then there is the reality — that whatever is written may not be true. Why bother reading ***

Broken Trust

If I was a genie I would get rid of lies and deceit in the souls of humans — one wish

I have seen you on the prayer mat

Bowing down to our God

Yet learnt you lie so blatantly

In total disregard

Of what’s true, and what did happen

The truth between us all

You forget the Angels writing

Of what did befall

Your hatred and maliciousness

Severed the ties that held us close

They are shredded and beyond repair

With wickedness you pose

Lies and deceit spread their poison forever

With broken spirit I won’t trust

The likes of you never

DAILY PROMPT

Generous Genies

Remember those lovely genies who grant wishes? Well, you’re one and you’ve just been emancipated from your restrictive lamp. You can give your three wishes to whomever you want. Who do you give your three wishes to, and why?

First Heartbreak

DAILY PROMPT
First!
Tell us about your first day at something — your first day of school, first day of work, first day living on your own, first day blogging, first day as a parent, whatever.

Your words are like stones, they have hit me hard

I am hurting, just leave me behind

My heart is breaking with all your lies

Leave me alone, I want to hide

Why the sound of loud drums beat into my ears

Why? what you have said fills me with despair

Why does my heart hurts so much

Why am I breaking slowly into layers

A tired broken spirit

what others may see

I don’t want anyone to know

What your words have done to me

Lies

Sweet Little Lies
by Ben Huberman
As kids, we’re told, time and again, that lying is wrong. Do you believe that’s always true? In your book, are there any exceptions?

IMG_4305.PNG

Telling a lie has one big disadvantage. You forget what you have already said, and say something else. The end result is losing respect, and trust in the eyes of others.

A dreadful fate to be sure.

For myself I prefer the truth to be said to my face, rather than finding out later it was a lie. A white lie can be condoned, but a lie to harm someone can never be forgiven.

Truth is Better than Lies

Daily Prompt: Truth Serum
You’ve come into possession of one vial of truth serum. Who would you give it to (with the person’s consent, of course) — and what questions would you ask?

The first choice will be a politician, if he is getting my vote. This option is in the future; the next person I could think of is a lady among my acquaintances.

I am irked by her obsession with people’s ages, specially women. She is forever telling (whoever is unfortunately there, where she is), that she is in bad health, and that’s why she looks elder than her real age.

If she is sitting next to you, she will come out with a age related question. Then she will emphasize she is way younger than you.

Who is she trying to fool? What’s she trying to prove? Only she knows.

Sometimes she strikes down ten years of her supposed age, and sometimes five. At times she forgets, and comes out with a new one. Why she is at it? I don’t know, and I don’t care.

If I give her the “Truth Serum”, I don’t think she will take it.

I want to say to her, but I don’t think I will ever say:

Deep down in your heart you know
What is true, and what are lies
Please tell me what is true
Spare me from your lies
