Day Forty Six (A Journey with Quran)

Surah An Nisa: Ayats 81 —- 90

They say, “We obey,” but when they leave you, a bunch of them brood through the night on the opposite of what you’ve taught them, though Allah is keeping a record of their nightly tirades, so steer clear of them. Place your reliance upon Allah, for Allah is enough to take care of things. [81]

Haven’t they considered the Qur’an with care? If it were from any other (source) besides Allah, then they would’ve found many matters of disagreement within it. [82]

Whenever the (hypocrites hear) rumors about safety or impending danger, they announce it publicly (without checking on it first). If they would only refer the matter to the Messenger or to the proper authorities among them, then investigators could check on the incidents with them. If it wasn’t for Allah’s grace and mercy towards you, all save for a few of you would’ve followed Satan. [83]

Fight in the cause of Allah, though you’re only responsible for your own self. Rally the believers. Allah will surely restrain the power of the faithless, for Allah is the strongest power and the strongest punisher. [84]

Whoever makes a recommendation in a good cause becomes a part of it. Whoever makes a recommendation in an evil cause shares responsibility in it. Allah has the power to direct all things. [85]

When someone gives you a greeting, reciprocate with a nicer greeting than that or one equally as nice, for Allah is keeping track of all things. [86]

Allah! There is no god but He. He’s going to gather you all together on the Day of Assembly, and there’s no doubt about that! Now whose word can be more honest than Allah’s? [87]

So what’s wrong with you that you’ve split into two groups (of opinion) about the hypocrites? Allah has thrown them by the wayside because of what they’ve earned. Do you want to try and guide one whom Allah has left astray? Whomever Allah leaves astray will never discover a way (out of darkness)! [88]

The (hypocrites) only want you to cover over (the truth of Allah in your hearts) like they’ve covered it over (in their hearts), for then you’ll be on the same level. So, don’t take best friends from among them until they migrate, for Allah’s sake, (to Medina). If they become rebels (and make war against you), then capture them or kill them (in battle) wherever you find them. Don’t take close allies or helpers from among them, [89] unless it’s with those who join a faction with which you have a treaty (of peace), or those who come to you with hearts that hold them back from fighting you – and fighting their own people! If Allah had wanted, He could’ve given them an advantage over you, and they would’ve fought you. If they stay back and don’t try to fight you and instead send you (offers) of peace, then Allah hasn’t given you any legitimate reason (to fight against them). [90]

The Prophets

Prophets are men of God chosen by Him only. I’m not talking about those self proclaimed ones who do nothing but lead astray humanity with false utterances. The chosen ones by God are above us mere mortals.

You can’t say this man is a prophet if he is a sinner who indulges in shameful acts. A prophet is held accountable for anything he does which may not be a sin even. For example Yunus (Jonah) left his people in despair when they wouldn’t listen to him. He boarded a boat where as a punishment for leaving his people without waiting for God’s directive to leave, he was swallowed by a whale.

He repeatedly asked for God’s forgiveness, whereas he got ejected by the whale.

I read someplace where a blogger called Lut a sinner. He didn’t choose the place where he was told to preach. God directed him there. A true prophet follows God’s clear instructions only. He doesn’t go by his own whims and feelings.

There are shameful acts attributed to him which are not true, and doesn’t exist in Islamic scriptures, only made up in other books penned by men themselves.

Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him)

And peace be unto those sent (to warn)

And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds!

God doesn’t send peace on a wrongdoer. From Ayat 181, you can discern a prophet’s status.

Worries and Fears

Worries and fears plague me no end

My faith in One God and the last Messenger

Is not acceptable to many

Who view Muslims as harbingers

To terrorism and anarchy

The hate campaign lingers

Who are they?

The terrorists and hate campaigners

Spreading hate, not peace

Humanity murderers

I wouldn’t be scared

If I lived back here

But what will I do?

Once I am back there

Three Years From Now

A Merry Christmas to those who are celebrating.

Three years from now — for me, it’s difficult to visulize — not good at it.

Yesterday I unfortunately bumped into the sharp edge of the outside sink on the terrace. I narrowly missed injuring my right eye, but it is very painful.

I wish for Peace and Happiness around the world, no more strife and an end to religeous witch hunting.

It’s My Party – 2

I have long given up on holding parties at my home, even when R (my husband) was alive. If I have to — I invite the guests to a local restaurant. That takes care of it. It’s a costly endeavor, but I don’t have to toil, and groan at the amount of work involved in arranging a party.

R’s third death anniversary is on August the second. To send Blessings his way I will have to gather ladies to come for a Khatam Quran (reading of the Quran). This year I am planning it ahead of time in July. Why July? Because my daughter along with her family is coming to spend Eid-ul-Fitr with me. Inshallah!

Nola can help me with the guests, the reading, and the cooking. I don’t plan to cook all the dishes at home. There is a good restaurant from where I can get delicious seekh kababs, and other mouth watering food.

It will still be a lot of work as each lady will be bringing her children along. I can’t expect the ladies minus children. The men folk will be at work so they won’t participate.

I am looking forward with trepidation. It will look odd to hold a Khatam Quran in a restaurant, hence the holding at home. I can only hope it goes well, so please send good wishes my way.

Above is R. Allah’s Blessings, and Peace on him.
