Shallow

A shallow heart

Is not what I want

I want the real thing

I have yet to find

What I’m seeking

I’ll have to keep looking

Hidden

.

Hidden fears can’t be shared

Soul can’t be bared

Faces of deceit and mockery

Would never be able to face

Won’t like to be vulnerable

Outwardly I have to be brave

Bury

Lines that are buried deep into my hand

What do they show?

Future, past or present

What should I know?

Are they the shadowy remains of a past that is dead

Or harbingers of a future ahead?

Jangle

.

Beginning:

The wind chimes jangled over the door

Late husband angerly swore

Why does this thing hang over the door

Later:

The wind chimes jangled

Not a word would he say

Keeping quiet

He would pass through the door

He started liking it

By the way

Commit

Would like to find a way

Till I’ve means to get a home

For son, and me to live

For a new place to stay

He isn’t as committed as me

Time seems to run away

Never at home, busy as a bee

While I try to find a way

(Sheen-June2017)
