One can’t be honest when someone close asks you, “how do I look in these clothes?”
Would be foolhardy to answer, “you don’t look good in them”, or answer “you look fabulous! The answer she would like to have, and which will be a lie.
At moments like those, words fail me, and I come out, “Ahah…..”, wishing like mad to find the right words. I try not to say that the dress doesn’t suit her, because in her own eyes she may be thinking otherwise.
I was going someplace along with a relative. When she got ready I literally had a heart attack at the sight of her wearing a red dress. She is a lovely person, but red definitely didn’t look good on her. With her coloring it didn’t become her. I didn’t know what to say. Words failed me.

I couldn’t. She thought it looked good on her, and her grandmother had told her earlier (before I saw her) she looked divine in it. I just didn’t know what to say to her.

I always say “It’s just not my taste” this way I stated that I didn’t like something, but although realize that it is just a question of taste sometimes.
